February Fly Tying at the Parsippany Library

Simple Flies that Catch Fish

Some people call them “Junk Flies” and tell you that they would never use them. But when you’re fishing for stocked trout in New Jersey you just might want to have a few of these in your arsenal, especially if the guy next  to you is catching all the fish, and you’re not. Many competition fly anglers use them including George Daniel and Devin Olsen. We will be tying the Walt’s Worm, Mop Fly, Taco Egg, Micro Leech, and Sucker Spawn. You don’t need to be an expert to tie these “flies”.

The fly tying session will start at 7pm on Tuesday, February 21 at The Parsippany Library, 449 Halsey Rd., Parsippany

You should bring a vise, bobbin, thread, whip finisher, scissors, and a bodkin. Bring the following threads, or something close.

Danville 210 fluoro pink (shell)

UTC 70 cream or light tan

UNI 8/0 flouro orange, orange, or red

UNI 6/0 brown

We will supply the other materials. Cost is FREE. Email me if you will be attending htuprez@gmail.com
