Earth Day is right around the corner and every year as Winter turns to Spring, members and volunteers of TU  and the Whippany River Watershed Action Committee roll up their sleeves on a beautiful Saturday morning to clean up an area of the Whippany River, right in the middle of Morristown, that notoriously catches a lot of debris over the course of a year.

 We will meet up at 8:30 at the Bethel Church in Morristown

Hacklebarney TU members are needed to lend a hand to help our friends the Whippany River Watershed  Commission to help clean up this great river as it passes right through our backyards.

The Musconetcong Watershed Association’s annual River Clean-Up is scheduled for Saturday, April 15th, beginning at 9:00 a.m.  The map below shows all of our clean-up locations from Lake Hopatcong down to the Delaware River confluence, so you can find the most convenient spot for you.  If you live close to the Musconetcong River, you live close to one of our clean-up sites!  Click the numbers on the map below to get more details about each site.  Once you have found a site you are interested in cleaning up, click here to choose a clean-up location and register.   

After the Clean-Up, you are invited to join us for a BBQ cookout at MWA's River Resource Center headquarters, located at 10 Maple Avenue, Asbury, NJ 08802.  This event is free for all volunteers as a thank-you for your dedication in helping to keep the Musconetcong River clean and healthy!

Hacklebarney TU will be doing a cleanup of the SBR in Long Valley. We will meet at the parking lot at 8 West Mill Road, Long Valley. It’s next door to Long Valley Bagel. Bring gloves, waders or boots, and a rake if you have one.

This cleanup is a way to scout out some good fishing spots on the South Branch.

We will gather at the Long Valley Brew Pub for lunch.
