The Hacklebarney TU Chapter has had a very productive December. We raised more than $1k at our holiday potluck dinner and auction. We partnered with the Ridge & Valley TU Chapter and stocked the Musconetcong River at Point Mountain with 300 brown trout. A dozen of our volunteers planted 450 mixed trees on the North Branch of the Raritan River in Mendham Township. To top it off, this week we met with the National Resources Conservation Service representative to look at our Ralston Stream Restoration project for future funding. We have a lot more planned for next year, so stay tuned!
Fly Tying Monday, December 18 with Cliff Behrens
Cliff is back again this month with two great flies that you will want to have in your fly box next summer.
Holiday Potluck Dinner and Auction
You are invited to our annual Holiday Potluck Dinner and Auction on Thursday, December 14. The event starts at 7pm at the Whippany American Legion Hall (in the basement room) 13-23 Legion Place, Whippany. Friends and family are welcome.
1. If you can, please bring something to share with others. If you don't cook you can always bring a pizza, fried chicken, a cold cut platter, cookies, jello (maybe not), or whatever you like. Don't forget serving utensils!
2. Big Daddy Jim will be the auctioneer. Donate for a worthy cause. Bring your surplus fishing related items for the live auction. Gently used equipment, fly tying supplies and tools, and clothing are welcome. Only bring items that will sell. No junk please!
3. There will be lots of great bargains. Bring cash or a check book.

Fly Tying Monday, November 20th with Cliff Behrens
Hacklebarney TU fly tying instructor Cliff Behrens will be the lead tyer at our next fly tying session at the Parsippany Library, 449 Halsey Rd, Parsippany, on Monday, November 20th from 6:45pm to 8:45pm. We will be tying surface caddis flies. Attendees need only bring their vice, bobbin, bodkin, scissors, whip finish tool, and a spool of tan and black thread (size 6/0 or 8/0). Cliff will furnish all other materials.
